STSI and Cabrera Research Lab Announce Strategic Partnership to Deliver Gold Standard Systems Thinking Training

May 27, 2025 — The Systems Thinking Standards Institute (STSI) is proud to announce a strategic partnership with Cabrera Research Lab (CRL), establishing CRL as a Level 1 Accreditation Partner of the Global Systems Thinking Standard (STS®). As part of this partnership, CRL will deliver its gold-standard Training Camp program as the official STSI Level 1 training and certification platform.

CRL’s Training Camp is the ultimate destination for structured, science-based systems thinking education. Designed around a belt system inspired by martial arts, it offers rigorous training in both the science and the practice of systems thinking—awarding White, Yellow, Blue, Purple, Brown, and Black Belts to participants who demonstrate increasing mastery. The program has earned international recognition for its depth, accessibility, and measurable outcomes.

This partnership allows CRL to refocus and redouble its efforts on two core missions: advancing the science of systems thinking and innovating the science of the practice of systems thinking. Meanwhile, it provides STSI with a powerful, field-tested training platform that aligns seamlessly with its mission to foster global systems literacy for all. "This is an exciting partnership that allows the Lab to focus on what it does best--drive curtting edge science in the area of systems thinking," said CRL's Dr. Derek Cabrera. "Training will now be handled by our partners at STSI."

By integrating CRL’s research-based pedagogy with STSI’s global standards infrastructure, this collaboration ensures that learners receive the most scientifically credible, practice-rich systems thinking education available today. The partnership is also a major step toward the formal accreditation pipeline envisioned by STSI, providing learners, educators, and institutions with a reliable pathway to develop systems thinking capacity at scale.
