Systems Thinking Standards Institute Appoints Dr. Dave Silberman to Science Board

May 27, 2025 — The Systems Thinking Standards Institute (STSI) is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Dave Silberman to its esteemed Science Board. Dr. Silberman, a decorated combat-disabled veteran, Boston University lecturer, and organizational strategist, brings a rare blend of lived experience, scientific rigor, and cross-sector leadership to the interdisciplinary board that stewards the Global Systems Thinking Standard (STS®).
With over two decades of executive and advisory experience spanning government, healthcare, startups, and venture capital, Dr. Silberman has built a reputation for designing and delivering systems that humanize organizational performance while maximizing strategic outcomes. He holds a Ph.D. in Human Resources Development, and multiple certifications including Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Agile Leader, and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
Dr. Silberman is also the author of the groundbreaking book The PTSD Journey Map, a systems thinking–based protocol for post-traumatic growth that integrates structural cognition with trauma recovery. His work in this domain has been hailed as a transformative contribution to both clinical practice and veteran care. Through his leadership, the protocol has gained traction as a science-backed, practical guide for individuals, families, and professionals navigating the complexities of trauma. As a member of the STSI Science Board, Dr. Silberman will support the rigorous review and approval of protocols, models, and tools for inclusion in the STS®, helping to ensure that the standards remain scientifically grounded, empirically validated, and widely applicable.
